My 1,479th kite video. Bored with flying on the beach, I looked for somewhere else, and decided to try the Red Zone. This enormous area of urban Christchurch was created by the demolition of over 7,000 houses following the huge earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. While small parts of it have been re-purposed, most of it is still awaiting a final decision on how it will be used in future. Much of it is fenced off, but some is accessible but mostly too covered in trees to make a good flying field.
