Democrats gave you the finger, Big Mantis gives you choice. Choice was written and recorded Wednesday April 8th, the night that Bernie Sanders dropped out. We are feeling raw, pissed off, but also astonished that yet again progressives have no choice. After living through 7 presidential cycles, Big Mantis, like many of our peers, is used to political betrayal by the Democratic Party. Losers lose and keep losing. Right now, many of us are disappointed, depressed, and scared by the decision we are being forced to make at the ballot box.
Fortunately, we have another choice:
We can fuckin’ rock.
There is hope. This pandemic is an opportunity to completely transform our society, the way we work, the way that we do politics, and the way that we love each other. When we get through this, something will be different, in spite of the desire for things to get back to normal. We can do better than normal. The systems that have done nothing but produce wealth for the rich to hoard at the expense of us all are about to collapse. Let’s do better.
