Following is a list based on current research data for why there is increased susceptibility and severity of the expression of COVID-19 in certain individuals & not others. π
1️⃣Environmental Pollution (shown to be extremely high in China & Italy); including — air, water, soil pollution.
2️⃣Particulate matters (Indian study)
3️⃣Poor breathing (possibly practicing breath work techniques could help improve lung capacity)
4️⃣Smoking
5️⃣Obesity (decreases lung capacity and increase risk of asthma; 35-40% of the U.S. population), which is a co-morbidity, but often not listed as one. Sometimes listed as a “healthy” person in the healthcare system.
6️⃣Metabolic Syndrome (glucose intolerance, central obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, etc.)
7️⃣Cardiovascular dx
8️⃣Acute & Chronic inflammation (i.e. elevated C-reactive protein)
9️⃣Toxic load of medications: i.e. ACE blockers (used to tx high blood pressure)

I’d like to end this post on two powerful quotes shared by Dr. Brett Jones.
⠀
✅ The first being by Louis Pasteur, a French biologist, microbiologist, and chemist renowned for his discoveries of the principles of vaccination (rabies & anthrax), microbial fermentation and pasteurization:
π€”It is not the germs we need to worry about. It is our inner terrain”
✅ The second quote is by Bruce Lee:
π€”I don’t pray for an easy life, I pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
