The "2020" Mac mini is actually the Mac mini (2018) with more base storage. Other than that, this is the same machine from 2018, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The 2018 Mac mini was the most versatile Mac upon its launched, but that title now belongs to the Mac Pro. But given the Mac Pro's price, the Mac mini may be a good alternative if you're willing to upgrade the RAM, opt for the six-core CPU, and add an external GPU. In fact, with a few upgrades, you can make the Mac mini perform like a baby iMac Pro. Mac mini 64 RAM upgrade:
