However, in the UK schools are likely to remain closed for some weeks as the rest of the country remains in lockdown.
Geoff Barton, head of the Association of School and College Leaders, said plans to reopen schools by the 1st June should begin very soon to make that date. Barton warned parents may to continue to teaching their children from home, with a rota system put in place where children spend part of the week in school and the rest at home. Or he suggests in another measure to keep social distancing, the return of year groups could be “staggered” with those studying GCSEs and A Levels coming back sooner.
