Time to move the larger fawns outside!

Time to move the larger fawns outside! The larger fawns will be moved outside this week. Once they are outside, all handling, other than for necessity, will cease. Johnathan is saying his goodbyes to some of the deer that will be moved to the outdoor pen. Johnathan names all the animals that come in and has been helping Susan with their care this year. Once in the outside pen, they will stay there until they are able to fend for themselves and large enough to be released in the fall. Every year Susan sees the previous years group come back for a visit and mostly they all stay together upon release. It is a really wonderful thing to see. Groups of adult deer, doing well and thriving...where once they came in tiny, and hurting and in need. We have SEVEN fawns now. Perhaps a record for us this early in the year.

Please consider a donation to help us in our work! We can’t do it without you! H
