A while ago I was testing a device that freezes water. I was testing it in a plastic beaker, and added some isopropylalcohol (IPA) to lower the freezing point, just to see what would happen (I wanted frozen sludge, lol). After I was done, I poured the water/IPA mix back in the IPA bottle, as I had new bottles sitting in my cabinet, and this bottle was running low anyway. After adding it I noticed that, when shaken, it foams for a bit in contrast to the "pure" 99,9% IPA...
I'm not sure how this translates to lower quantities of water, but I figured it's a nice indication of its presence when you're buying IPA from a shady place...
