President Trump held his first campaign rally since contracting the disease, targeting the US health response and military prowess in a speech to a crowd of supporters in Florida.
Mr Watson said "this is where the president is most comfortable".
"In front of the crowds, at a rally, trying to gee up that energy".
Mr Watson also said at this stage, he doesn't see there being another presidential debate before the November election.
