This is the Second Sunday of Advent. And today's Gospel introduces us to John the Baptist, the messenger sent ahead of the Messiah to prepare the way of the Lord. How did he do it? By proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Friends, we need to hear John the Baptist's call to repentance especially during advent. The pandemic is an invitation to conversion or the renewal of minds, relationships, decisions and actions to God's ways. Repentance is the straight path we must prepare for the Lord.
