Government policy and emerging technologies support drive towards environmental sustainability

In this Global Platform video, Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General, Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, discusses the emirate’s pioneering efforts to conserve water supplies, replenish fish stocks and protect natural habitats. Abu Dhabi is also finalising the emirate’s first single-use plastics policy, which aims not only to reduce their consumption but also demonstrate leadership as a responsible producer of plastics. Emerging technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence and robotics are set to play a significant role in achieving environmental sustainability.
