The Comeback Man - Anish Giri | Magnus Carlsen Invitational Finals Anish Giri became the champion of the Magnus Carlsen invitational 2021. But the odds were stacked against him when he lost the 4th rapid game on day 2 of the finals. With the momentum on Nepo's side and the Russian being a better blitz player it looked as if Anish would not have it easy in the blitz playoffs. However, the Dutch no.1 came all cylinders firing in the 1st blitz game. He sacrificed a knight and just when it seemed that Nepo had defended everything and was winning, the lightning struck!
